How To Get The Most From A Trip As A Tourist!

Have you ever wondered why you question the worth of something? Specifically, a tour, walk or any manner of travel?

90% People like travelling for various reasons like visiting friends, leisure, business or some other plans. Let’s focus on traveling for, Self-discovery, motivation or Freedom. Simply, looking for bliss!

You might find that you travel but don’t really feel the complete satisfaction of it. In Kenya we say, ‘Safari Bora… Sio Bora Safari‘. This basically means go for a good tour(safari Bora) don’t say, just a tour. Look for something worth your while tourist!

Again, that’s not just it. You have to make the moment. You gotta dive in and make it what you want. So, I’ll highlight what you need to have on your fingertips as you go on a trip. The aim is to make it productive and satisfying, so enjoy it.

1. Understand What You Really Want From The Tour.

Know what you need at the end of the day. That is the ultimate way to make yourself happy after all. Understand the importance of what you’re looking for. It might be a feeling of peace or time alone. Definitely you won’t visit the urban center you have always dreamt of. It goes without saying that noise is an element in the area. On the contrary, get lost in the forest watch while in that train!

2. Be part of the tour or destination, hug it, feel it…

After deciding where to go, don’t wait to be served. Be part of the play. ‘Good things come to those who get them’. If it’s a park, it gotta have trees, so hang on them, grab the water down the stream near the waterfall then chase that antelope! You have to be part of the world that you wish. Don’t be a crybaby and say, ‘but I might get injured’. Sir/ madam, nothing comes easy, plus in tourism and travel, even that uncalled for injury is part of the whole process.

3. If possible, get a friend.

Life is good with the art called sharing. It makes both the giver and the taker smile. When we talk of a friend, we have no limits because it can be your bestie, or maybe a dog hahhah. Yes, Seriously. Ideally, get another party to share what you got with. My cousin read this and took his pillow! I mean, do you feel an attachment? Yes. Then go for it. Happiness is within you actually, and so just get it however, whenever, whichever way, with whoever.

4. While in it, appreciate what comes along, it will love you back.

While looking for Self-discovery, a butt-pinch by a stick is not just about pain, it’s a, ‘Hi there!’ The point I’m trying to make is that don’t dwell on negativity while on your trip. Just let it go and smile boo. Nature automatically smiles back.

5. If on a group tour, do and be crazy like the rest.

Let’s agree, group tours are the best. People themselves are something great to watch and be with. Isn’t God amazing? They are the ones that make the time solid. Have you ever been on a group tour and just pray that you come back home late at night? The main reason is because you are not alone. Companies like Going Wild Adventures mostly appreciate the group tourists because they make it family in 24 hours or so. It togetherness plus the fine moments of throwing all the left manners to the wind. Shout and sing along to Cardi B in that bus!

6. Question, question, question…

In a trip, one thing you should not forget to carry home is information. So if you’re lucky to have a guide around or someone knowledgeable, ask him or her. Question names of tress, animals, tribes, culture, history and so on. This is a priceless souvenir. It might come in handy later.

7. Take something home.

Before the day ends, if you’ve not been gifted, gift yourself something and take it with you. This will surely make you miss the tour. In most cases people carry long lasting things like curvings, don’t make that biscuit a priority because you know, you might end up eating it on your way back.

8. Do unforgettable experiences, don’t mind when it hurts.

You need to talk about this day every time you’re looking for a story to give to your friends later in life. Don’t make it a ‘we went and came back’ thing. Do something worth leaving an exciting mark in your life. An example is that, you can decide to swim below a waterfall for the first time! Make crocodile illusions and run for your life naked, hahaah. That will be worth a day of fun.

9. Tell the story home, before you sleep.

Time is always fair to everyone so eventually, the day ends. If you followed all we talked about above, you had an awesome day! So, try and create an image of what happened to those at home by telling the story. And because you made it a time to remember, you will enjoy narrating it too and that will be a confirmation of satisfaction. Thank me later.
